AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Nazareth Swiftettes have started the season with a 10-5 record as the reigning Class 1A Division II state champions.
The team returns a strong group from last year’s title run while adding newcomers. Head coach Eric Schilling said the team faces high expectations and increased pressure with each win.
“I think just being here, they see it in junior high, everybody wants to beat them. It doesn’t matter what level it is. It don’t matter what sport it is and it’s something I want them to take a lot of pride in,” Schilling said.
“We know that we’re gonna see everybody’s best shot, or at least expect to see their best shot. And my response to that is the best way to counter that is give them your best shot.”
