CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 50-year-old Aurora man is set for a February trial on three counts of sexual battery involving a teenager.

A Portage County grand jury handed down a three-count felony indictment against Brian Zenz on Nov. 20. Common Pleas Judge Becky L. Doherty set his bond at $50,000. Zenz posted the bond and was released days later, according to court records.

Doherty set a trial date of Feb. 18.

The charges allege the incidents took place between Nov. 1, 2021, and Sept. 1, 2024. Court filings indicate that the incidents began when the girl was 15.

The charges are third-degree felonies. If he is convicted, he faces a maximum of three years in prison on each count.

Zenz is represented by attorneys Maxwell Hiltner and Brad Wolfe. Hiltner declined to comment on the case.
