Police in suburban Downers Grove are searching for a man they say broke into a high school in the area and attempted to rob a maintenance worker early Wednesday morning.
Around 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to Downers Grove North High School, located at 4436 Main Street, and discovered a man had entered the school through an unlocked window on the first floor and attempted to rob a maintenance worker.
The man approached the maintenance worker and demanded money, police said. Upon making contact with a second worker in the building, the man fled.
No weapon was displayed or inferred during the incident, according to authorities.
