LAKE OF THE OZARKS - Crews from several mid-Missouri agencies helped locate a fisherman Tuesday evening on the Gravois arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.

According to a press release from the Gravois Fire Protection District, the fisherman experienced a mechanical failure when his motor would not start. After landing at the other end of the shoreline, nearby homeowners provided the fisherman shelter and assisted him in contacting his family.

The Gravois Fire Protection District was dispatched around 6 p.m. on Tuesday to help the Missouri State Highway Patrol search for an elderly fisherman who hadn't returned home. Crews launched the district's fire boat and called for extra help from the Rocky Mount and Lake Ozark fire districts.

A command post was set up at the Gravois Public Access area
