COLUMBUS, Ohio — Gov. Mike DeWine signed an executive order Tuesday directing more than $13.4 million annually in federal welfare funds to dozens of faith-based and community organizations across Ohio.
The executive order allocates Temporary Assistance for Needy Families money for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 through the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. The money will support more than 50 organizations across the state and over a dozen in Northeast Ohio that provide services such as mentorship programs, food assistance, workforce training, housing support and more.
Allocations to Cuyahoga County alone amounted to nearly $2.4 million.
