The Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation has given out 151 stipends to families for the holiday season in an effort to help give some relief to grandparents and others raising relatives during an often financially stressful time of the year.

The $250 stipends to families in Rio Arriba, Taos and Los Alamos counties mark $130,000 in distributions to families since 2021, according to a Tuesday news release. The foundation noted it gives out the stipends “through generous support from the Delle Foundation,” also based in Los Alamos.
