A pedestrian has died after being struck by a CTrain in northeast Calgary, police said Wednesday evening.
They said around 7:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to 26th Avenue N.E. and 36th Street N.E. (near Rundle Station) after receiving several calls about a pedestrian-LRT collision.
EMS transported the pedestrian to hospital in life-threatening condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
An investigation by the Calgary Police Service's traffic section is underway.
Staff Sgt. John Guigon said significant traffic disruptions in the area were expected to last late into the night. Lanes in both directions were closed for investigation on 26th Avenue N.E. and 36th Street N.E.
