WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — City leaders gathered Wednesday to break ground on Park Landing, a new shelter and supportive-housing project on the Second Light campus near 10th and Main. The development is part of Wichita’s multi-phase plan to help people move from homelessness into long-term stability.
Park Landing is Phase Three of the Second Light campus and will include 25 non-congregate shelter units on the first floor and 50 supportive-housing units on the second and third floors. Officials say the project will provide temporary stabilization, case management and a pathway into permanent housing.
One man experiencing homelessness, who goes by B-Love, said he arrived in Wichita three months ago after his bus broke down. He said he has been homeless for four years and believes this project
