SAN JOSE – A large-scale operation targeting gang-motivated crimes in San Jose culminated in the arrest of five men and four teenage boys, authorities announced Wednesday.

The crimes, many of which were related to vandalism and firearms, happened between September and November, according to San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih.
Shih said detectives identified seven primary suspects responsible for the crimes: a 20-year-old man, two 18-year-old men, a 17-year-old boy, two 16-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy, all of San Jose.
On Nov. 19, detectives arrested the 20-year-old man and the two 16-year-old boys in San Jose.
Detectives searched the 20-year-old man’s home and “located a loaded firearm, large quantities of narcotics and two homemade improvised explosives,
