Bhubaneswar: The mercury plummeted to 3°C for the first time this season as Odisha remained firmly under the grip of cold wave.

Semiliguda in Koraput was coldest place in the state on Thursday at 3.5°C, followed by G Udayagiri and Phulbani in Kandhamal at 4°C and 5.2°C, respectively, Chiplima in Bargarh at 6.1°C, Rourkela at 6.6°C, Jharsuguda at 6.7°C and Daringbadi, also in Kandhamal, at 7°C. ADVERTISEMENT

The other places, where the night temperature hovered around 10°C and below, include Bhawanipatna and Angul at 8°C each, Kirei in Sundargarh (8.1°C), Nabarangpur (8.6°C), Koraput and Balangir at 9.3°C each, Keonjhar and Sundargarh at 9.6°C each, senior meteorologist Umasankar Das posted on X.
