SAINT PAUL, Minn. —

Concord native Tara Mounsey was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame on Wednesday night.

The hockey trailblazer was honored during a ceremony at the RiverCentre in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she received a plaque recognizing her career and shared stories about how she fell in love with the sport.

Mounsey reflected on skating as a young girl at White Park in Concord with an old wooden stick.

She credited her parents as her foundation and her brother, Mick Mounsey, who she played with in high school, as her first competitor.

She also spoke about playing on the boys' hockey team at Concord High School and said she had to outwork everyone to be seen as an equal.
