Thousands of nonprofits across the state welcomed an influx of donations Tuesday, marking the annual arrival of “Colorado Gives Day,” when a Jefferson County-based nonprofit offers bonus funds to numerous charitable causes.

The Colorado Gives Day Foundation, according to its website, gathers more than $1 million each year. And once the fundraising period ends — running from Nov. 1 to the second Tuesday in December — the cash is split among thousands of nonprofits across the state, based on each organization’s contribution to the overall sum of contributions tallied, which totaled around $77 million in 2024.
