Ratnagiri, Dec 11: In an extraordinary feat, just under two years old, Veda Paresh Sarfare from Ratnagiri has made history by becoming the youngest child to swim 100 metres, earning her a spot in the India Book of Records.
According to the official confirmation from the India Book of Records, Veda, aged 1 year, 9 months, and 10 days, completed four laps—totaling 100 metres—at the municipal swimming pool in Ratnagiri in 10 minutes and 8 seconds. The achievement was formally recognised in an email from the record-keeping body on November 25, which hailed her accomplishment as a “remarkable milestone for someone so young.”
