Sherrone Moore, The University of Michigan’s former football coach, was detained by police following an alleged assault.
Moore, 39, was in custody in Washtenaw County Jail on Wednesday, December 10, as a suspect in the assault, ESPN reported that day.
Hours earlier, The University of Michigan fired Moore, with the college’s athletic director Warde Manuel making the announcement in a press release.
“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” Manuel, 57, stated. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”
