After his firing on Wednesday, ex-Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore was reportedly detained by police in a city outside Ann Arbor.

ESPN reported Wednesday night that the Saline Police Department “assisted in locating and detaining former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore.”

Moore, according to the statement to ESPN, has since been turned over to police in nearby Pittsfield Township “for investigation into potential charges.”

The Ann Arbor News reached out to both departments for comment.

Moore, 39, was fired by Michigan on Wednesday after a school probe determined that he had violated school policy by engaging in an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”
