Russian President Vladimir Putin told the two Trump envoys he met with in Moscow that he understands Ukraine needs security guarantees under a peace settlement, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a meeting with ambassadors in Moscow on Thursday.

But Lavrov said there must be "security guarantees for all the involved parties," including Russia, and that the Kremlin is willing to "sign a legally binding treaty" on this, citing proposals Moscow made to NATO in 2021.
