Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has spoken about the significant influence Australian left-arm quick Mitchell Starc has had on his international cricket journey, crediting the experienced pacer for shaping crucial aspects of his bowling technique.
Starc, who began his career for Australia in 2010, recently surpassed Pakistan legend Wasim Akram to become the left-arm fast bowler with the most Test wickets. Although Afridi, aged 24, has many more years to achieve similar milestones, he acknowledges that the Australian has already played a vital role in his development.
Afridi recalled being a teenager during Starc’s impressive campaign in the 2015 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup held in Australia, where Starc emerged as the joint leading wicket-taker for the winning team.
