Scottish sporting hero Sir Chris Hoy says his leg has been “smashed up” following the “worst crash” he has ever had.
The six-time Olympic gold medallist was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in September 2023.
Last year, the 49-year-old announced that the cancer had spread to his bones, and that doctors had given him between two and four years to live.
Despite undergoing chemotherapy, the Olympian has continued to cycle, however, in an interview with Sky Sports, Hoy revealed that he is currently on crutches following a mountain bike accident.
He said: “I’ve smashed my leg up on the mountain bike, that’s the worst thing that’s happened recently. You just don’t bounce like you do when you’re younger.
“It was a big one. I’m doing better now, I’m still on crutches, hobbling about,
