President Donald Trump’s tariffs and trade battles with Canadian leaders have led to tourism declines along the country’s northern border, with New Hampshire’s 30% decline the biggest drop in the nation according to a new report from the Joint Economic Committee led by U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H.

The report surveyed border crossing declines and tourism revenue losses in all 11 states from Maine to Alaska.

Before Gov. Kelly Ayotte led her own trade mission to Canada, former Business and Economic Affairs Commissioner Taylor Caswell had said last summer that Canadian tourism in the state was off 30%.

The report found the second biggest decline along America’s northern border from January through October this year was the 28% drop in crossings in neighboring Vermont.
