The Met Office has issued new weather warnings that span 27 hours, alongside an alert of possible power cuts in the affected counties. The new yellow rain warnings are in place for North East England , North West England, and Yorkshire & Humber, running from 3 pm on Saturday until 6 pm on Sunday.

Britons have been warned that heavy rain during this weekend "may lead to travel disruption and some flooding". Flooding on roads could increase delays to journeys, with bus and train services likely to be impacted. The Met Office warned there is also a chance some communities will become cut off by flooded roads, while some interruption to power supplies and other services is likely.
