New Delhi: The long-running debate over the trade deal between India and the United States may end soon. With the beginning of the new year, the trade deal between the two nations could be finalised, India’s Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V Anant Nageswaran indicated.

Commenting on the trade talks, Nageswaran said that he was thinking that India-US trade talks could reach some conclusion by the end of November, but it has turned out to be elusive. So it is very difficult to give a timeline on this, he added.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV, CEA Nageswaran said that most of the trade issues between India and the US have been resolved during the series of talks in the recent months. He adopted a positive attitude and said that he would be surprised if the deal is not finalised by March.
