Dadar station, one of Mumbai ’s busiest stations connecting the Western and Central Railway lines is set for a major transformation. Work has begun to link Platforms 1, 2, and 3 with a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB). Plans are also underway to build a new platform on the eastern side for long-distance trains.
Sources in Western Railway said that infrastructure development is also in progress at Prabhadevi station. The FOB at Prabhadevi is located on the southern side of the station, and it was recently extended up to the Central Railway’s Parel end.
“After temporary changes were made in the halt points of local trains, trains started stopping two coaches ahead of their usual spot. This increased crowd movement and put additional load on the FOB.”
