MIDDLEBURY — Dr. Francis Michael Coan returns Wednesday, December 17 at 6 p.m. at Shepardson Community Center to examine the British attacks that scarred Connecticut towns from 1777 to 1781, shaping the state’s Revolutionary War legacy.
During his presentation, Dr. Coan will take a detailed look at three British incursions that tested Connecticut’s resilience: the 1777 raid on Danbury, the 1779 Coastal Campaign, and the 1781 attack on New London and Groton.
This free lecture is part of the Middlebury Historical Society’s continuing effort to highlight Connecticut’s Revolutionary War heritage and supports the ongoing Rochambeau Project at Meadowview Park. No reservations are required.
