WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — No charges will be filed in the deadly stabbing at North Forsyth High School on Tuesday, investigators announced Thursday during a news briefing.

Investigators said 16-year-old Cameron Graham died in the stabbing, and an 18-year-old student was injured.

Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill said the two students were friends and knew each other well. He said no charges will be filed against the older teen.

"There’s not a shred of evidence to suggest this was anything more than an accident," O'Neill explained.

Graham's family said it plans to seek legal counsel.
