WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — One student died and another was injured after a stabbing at North Forsyth High School on Tuesday, school and law enforcement officials have confirmed. Here's a rundown of what we know and what we're still trying to find out as the investigation unfolds.
What happened?
Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough said two students got into a fight at North Forsyth High School around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. The fight led to a stabbing. WS/FCS Superintendent Don Phipps said a 16-year-old student died and an 18-year-old student was injured.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, the student who died was the one who produced a three-inch knife during the altercation. Officials said the 18-year-old student who was injured had "defensive-type wounds" after trying to w
