Fans of Grammy-nominated musician Roderick “Rory” Macleod have been sending prayers to his family and former band after the disturbing details of his death have emerged.
According to reports, Macleod, who is best known for his time with the group Roomful of Blues, was hit and killed on Dec. 6 in Rhode Island while walking his dog.
He was 70.
People Magazine reported that Shannon Godbout, 41, was arrested by the Hopkinton Police Department following the incident. In a release shared to Facebook , police said Hopkinton “left her lane and struck several objects, including two telephone poles.”
Police said that Macleod was walking his dogs in the eastbound lane when he was hit. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he died.
