Portland gets another day of light rain and patchy showers Thursday before a break in the weather arrives Friday.

The National Weather Service says patchy showers and persistent cloud cover will continue through Thursday. Snow levels are stuck way above the passes at about 7,500 feet. Only the highest peaks will see any snow from the showers that move through Thursday.

Metro area winds are also gradually winding down early this morning. Gusty winds are still blowing in the Columbia River Gorge.

Portland is likely to see a few showers before noon Thursday, then just mostly cloudy skies. The high temp will reach about 60 degrees - still holding at about 13 degrees above average during mid December.
