There are fears that rising river levels could cause flooding in areas along the River Severn and River Wye today (Thursday, December 11).

Flood warnings, which mean flooding is expected, have been updated by the Environment Agency which has listed some of the areas most at risk.

Current warnings are active on the River Severn at Apperley and The Leigh, on the River Severn at Severn Ham, Tewkesbury, and on the River Wye from Hereford to Ross-on-Wye.

Flood alerts, which mean flooding is possible, are also in force on the Severn and the Wye in Gloucestershire.

Luckily, no more heavy rain in the county is forecast in the coming days, although there could be some light rain on Friday (December 12) from 4am to 9am.
