The Centre on Thursday told Parliament that it has taken cognisance of a surge in fake overseas job rackets run by dubious firms targeting Indian nationals through social media. These deceptive schemes have trapped thousands of Indians in Cambodia, Myanmar and Lao PDR, with government data confirming that more than 6,700 of them have been rescued so far.
