STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) - A man who owned dealerships in two Siouxland counties is facing numerous charges of theft and ongoing criminal conduct.
On Monday, Dec. 8, 64-year-old Daniel Winchell of Cherokee was charged with four counts of theft in the first degree and two counts of ongoing criminal conduct in two Iowa counties.
Authorities believe Winchell was involved with a series of thefts, which took place at two Holzhauer Ford locations and one Holzhauer Motors dealership. These dealerships are found in Cherokee and Storm Lake.
According to court documents, Winchell is the owner of the dealership.
Documents state, “During the summer of 2024, Holzhauer Ford Storm Lake, at the direction of [Winchell] sold vehicles out of trust. The total number of vehicles sold this way is more than $
