LAKE PERRIS, Calif. (KABC) -- A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up for a 55-year-old father who drowned in Lake Perris while trying to save his 7-year-old son after their kayak capsized.
Co-workers of Hadi Ahmadi are raising money for funeral expenses, memorial arrangements, and anything else his family may need.
Ahmadi and his son had been kayaking on the lake Saturday when their kayak capsized, according to officials. Neither of them was wearing a lifejacket, according to Lake Perris SRA.
Investigators said Ahmadi heroically kept his son afloat, supporting him until officers arrived. The father and son were taken to the hospital where the father later died.
"He was not only a valued member of our team but also someone who brought kindness, warmth, and positivity to everyone aro
