CENTREVILLE, MI – A food program, believed to be the first of its kind in Michigan, opened Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Centreville High School in St. Joseph County.

Superintendent Chad Brady welcomed district officials, community stakeholders, representatives from Michigan Farm Bureau and media members to the kickoff of the Centreville Public Schools Food Club.

The in-school market is designed to get food, toiletries and other necessities into the hands of Centreville Public Schools’ families free of charge.

Brady said the period from concept to reality took more than a year and involved no shortage of moving parts. Nonetheless, an invigorated Brady said the Food Club is a milestone for the district.
