Singer Camryn Magness, best known for performing alongside pop superstars One Direction and Fifth Harmony, has died. She was 26.
Magness' death was revealed in an emotional post on the singer's social media pages Tuesday, Dec. 9. A cause of death was not disclosed. The tribute included a brief clip of Magness scuba diving.
"Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of our beloved Camryn, a radiant force whose voice, coy and bright spirit touched so many," the post read. "Whether beneath the waves or on stage, she met life with fearless energy and boundless kindness.
"In the quiet between waves, her memory will surface — bright, bold, unforgotten. Rest in endless blue, our sweet girl," the post concluded. "You are deeply loved and forever cherished. Please keep her family and friends in prayer as they navigate this difficult time. Camryn will live on in our hearts forever "
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Magness for additional details.
The Denver native showed an early penchant for music, signing with the record label 5280 Media in 2008 at the age of 9. Her debut single, "Wait and See," was featured in the 2011 children's comedy "Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer," as well as her songs "Summer" and "So What Oh Well."
Magness also made a name for herself on the road. In 2011, the rising pop singer was tapped to open for teen sensations Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance on their coheadlining Waiting 4U Tour. That same year, Magness toured the Midwest with pop-punk band Allstar Weekend.
The singer also opened for British boy band One Direction on the group's 2012 Up All Night Tour and 2013 Take Me Home Tour, the latter of which saw Magness perform over 60 shows in Europe. In 2016, Magness toured with One Direction's "X Factor" alumni Fifth Harmony for the European leg of the girl group's 7/27 Tour.
In recent years, Magness released the singles "Glow," "EZ EZ," "Paint Another Life" and "Dance with Somebody." Her final album, the EP "Love Maps," was released in 2021.
