A deadly crash closed Interstate 40 eastbound in Wilson County for hours on the morning of Dec. 11, causing heavy traffic and significant delays, before it reopened, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred near exit 229. It was reported by THP on social media at about 6:20 a.m.
Traffic was diverted to Beckwith Road, which caused heavy traffic on Mt. Juliet streets, the city's police department reported.
The highway patrol announced I-40 was reopened just after 8 a.m.
