Emergency services were called to multiple incidents across North Yorkshire this week after motorists became stranded in rapidly rising floodwater.
Crews from Acomb, Ripon, York and Richmond Fire Stations responded to a series of callouts on Wednesday, December 10, as river levels continued to rise following recent heavy rainfall in the Dales.
At Cattal, near Tockwith, firefighters from Acomb were at the scene after a motorist became trapped on the roof of their vehicle at around 7.30am.

The driver had attempted to escape after entering floodwater, but was unable to reach safety.
