MESQUITE, Texas — A North Texas pastor has resigned after the arrest of his son, a former teacher and coach at a North Texas charter school, on a child grooming charge, according to the church and police.

Mesquite police received a report of a possible child grooming case at the Christian Center of Mesquite in the 4400 block of East Cartwright Road on Oct. 2, according to a press release.

In a subsequent investigation, police identified the suspect as Matthan Lough, 32, from Crandall, officials say. Police got an arrest warrant and Lough was arrested on a complaint of child grooming by Mesquite Police Department investigators, according to a press release.
