GRISWOLD, CT (WFSB) - State police arrested a man on a number of charges for a deadly crash that happened in Griswold last December.

They charged 39-year-old Ronald John Rogers with second-degree manslaughter, intentional cruelty to persons, failure to drive in a proper lane, evading responsibility, and failure to wear a safety belt.

Rogers turned himself in on Tuesday on an active arrest warrant.

According to the warrant, state police responded to the crash on Hell Hollow Road in Griswold on Dec. 8, 2024 at about 1:50 a.m.

Troopers said a Honda Civic had traveled off the road and collided with rocks and a tree.

Rogers managed to get out of the car. State police said his passenger, Roger Denton, was trapped inside of it.

The warrant said Rogers made a non-emergency call to dispatcher
