A Winnipeg man serving time at the Provincial Remand Centre is facing additional charges after police linked him to two unauthorized entries at a high school in the Louis Riel School Division late last month.
According to a Winnipeg Police Service news release, the Child Abuse Unit launched an investigation after school officials reported two separate incidents on Dec. 1. Both situations were captured on internal surveillance systems. Police emphasized that no students or staff were threatened or physically harmed during either occurrence.
The first incident took place on Nov. 20, after school hours. Investigators say a man entered the building and roamed the halls before accessing an empty classroom, where he allegedly removed a laptop. He then exited the school without being detected.
