Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing intensified political heat after newly released government records revealed that the state spent more than Rs 47 crore on his helicopter and special aircraft travel between May 2023 and November 2025.
The disclosure, made in the Legislative Council in response to a starred question by BJP MLC N Ravikumar, has reignited a fierce debate over the Chief Minister’s public positioning as a “socialist leader” versus his growing administrative expenditure.
According to the official data placed before the Council, the government booked 181 helicopter and special flight trips during this period—180 for the Chief Minister and one for Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.
