Strong, gusty winds up to 45 mph will impact Staten Island through Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service . A wind advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. Friday as temperatures drop sharply into the mid-20s overnight.
The weather service reports that west-northwest winds will continue with sustained speeds of 20-24 mph through Thursday afternoon, with frequent gusts between 30-35 mph. Some locations could experience occasional gusts reaching 40-43 mph. Wind speeds will gradually decrease Thursday evening, with gusts around 25 mph overnight.
