SALT LAKE CITY— Utah didn’t just beat Boise State on Wednesday night — the Utes dismantled them. Behind a devastating second-quarter surge and a backcourt clinic from Lani White, LA Sneed, and fellow freshman Avery Hjelmstad, Utah enjoyed a 91–58 runaway at the Huntsman Center, showcasing a team that’s starting to find its identity — and its edge.
Through the first quarter, this looked like a really competitive basketball game. Then Utah got it rolling in the second, Boise State blinked, and the night was effectively over.
A 19–19 first quarter quickly gave way to a 28–10 Utah avalanche in the second, turning a tie game into an 18-point halftime lead. The Utes never looked back, stacking a second-half burst on top of the damage and cruising to a 91–58 win at the Huntsman Center.
