BALTIMORE —

A drug maker is looking for participants for a clinical trial involving an investigational Alzheimer's drug, and Baltimore is one of the trial locations.

The purpose of Merck's study is to see if the drug, known as MK-1167, helps slow the progression of Alzheimer's when taken with current Alzheimer's medications.

Participants will be given either a pill of the drug or a placebo daily — free of charge.

You may be able to join the trial if you're between 55 and 90 years old with moderate Alzheimer's disease.

You must be currently taking a cholinergic Alzheimer's medication and you must have a caregiver who can go with you to trial visits.
