U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala. announced Thursday that the Federal National Mortgage Association, otherwise known as Fannie Mae, will be moving their offices from San Francisco, Calif. to Birmingham.

“I’ve got an early Christmas present for the city of Birmingham and the state of Alabama,” Tuberville said in a video posted to Facebook Thursday afternoon.

“I’ve been working with President Trump and federal housing director Bill Pulte to move the offices of Fannie Mae from woke California to the great state of Alabama.”

Tuberville expressed confidence that bringing in Fannie Mae, which identifies itself online as the leading provider of mortgage financing in the U.S., will bring “great jobs” to the state and “help re-establish Birmingham as the leading financial hub of the south.”
