BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Discovery is underway for the man accused of killing a Baton Rouge police officer.

During a sanity hearing on Dec. 11, Judge Don Johnson said Gad Black was competent to stand trial after a three-panel sanity commission found him sane.

The judge formally arraigned him after the decision was announced.

Black is accused of intentionally ramming into Sgt. Caleb Eisworth on his way home on Joor Road on June 16. Eisworth was hospitalized after that crash and died months later.
