ROCHESTER, Minn. — Rochester Public Schools (RPS) is addressing recent concerns about its involvement in the Minnesota Principals Academy (MPA), a program aimed at developing leadership skills among school principals statewide. A Twin Cities television channel recently reported potential conflicts of interest, as Dr. Katie Pekel, the MPA director, is married to RPS Superintendent Dr. Kent Pekel.
