MADISON, Wis. -- UW Athletics on Thursday announced Eric Mateos will be the football team's new offensive line coach.
Mateos, who comes to Madison from Arkansas, previously coached with Badgers offensive line coach Jeff Crimes at Baylor, BYU and LSU. In 2021, the duo's offense at Baylor produced the Big 12's best rushing attack.
"He's a phenomenal person and one of the best offensive line coaches in the entire country," Grimes said of Mateos. "I believe his demeanor and coaching style fits Wisconsin Football and is just what we need to help us build a physical offense for this 2026 season."
Mateos spent the last two seasons as offensive line coach at Arkansas. The Razorbacks had a top-20 offense this year with 454.8 yards per game, and ranked 10th in the nation last year in total offens
