EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 17-year-old boy is dead following a reported stabbing at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority's (GCRTA) Red Line Superior Rapid Station on Thursday.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office, Jamir Peak was taken from the Superior Rapid Station to University Hospitals Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

According to an RTA spokesperson, at approximately 1:04 p.m., transit officials were informed of a fight and a stabbing that occurred at the Superior Rapid Station.

"GCRTA Transit Police reported to the station and are leading the investigation. The Superior Station has been temporarily closed due to the ongoing investigation by GCRTA Transit Police. No additional information is available at this time," RTA told 3News.
