MADISON, Wis. — The 21-year-old man accused of killing a woman in a crash on Madison's southwest side earlier this year pleaded guilty to one charge Thursday afternoon, online court records show.
Rayan Bertrand pleaded guilty to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. He previously faced nearly a dozen charges including first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, but those have since been dismissed.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Dane County, Bertrand allegedly told an officer "I have been drinking all day" when speaking after the crash.
The crash occurred on March 6 near the intersection of South Gammon and Raymond roads. Madison police said Bertrand drove between 55 or 60 mph before the crash.
