A business in Surrey was sprayed with gunfire early Thursday for the second time, in connection with a string of extortion shootings.

The Surrey Police Service says the shooting happened at about 3:30 a.m. at the business in the area of 82 Avenue and 124 Street.

Police say a suspect fired multiple shots at the business and then fled the area in a dark-coloured vehicle.

No one was in the building at the time of the shooting and there were no injuries, police said. This is the second time that the business has been targeted in a shooting.

Police say at 7:45 a.m., an employee of the business arrived to observe the damage. Police were contacted and officers attended.

At this time, the shooting is believed to be related to the ongoing series of extortions in Surrey.
