The Boston Bruins received positive injury updates on Thursday.

Charlie McAvoy was added to the active roster prior to the club’s matchup with the Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre — with the expectation that he’ll return to the lineup , according to The Boston Globe’s Jim McBride.

McAvoy, 27, has been out of the lineup since undergoing surgery for a facial fracture after getting hit with a slap shot against the Montreal Canadiens on Nov. 15. McAvoy spoke with reporters following an optional morning skate on Thursday.

“Today felt good and then we just monitor it throughout the day,” McAvoy said. “I’ve got to go talk to the trainers right now, so I don’t have an answer for you yet, but we’ll see how the rest of the day goes.”
